Congratulations to All!
These meetings will be virtual – on Zoom video-conferencing software. Our Event Calendar has been updated with the Monday events, and a lot of details provided (thank you, Veda!)
Looking forward to seeing y’all
What a nasty and gray day! With torrential rains continuing from the night before, with no sign of letting up, and no hope from the local weathermen of it going away anytime soon. Our entire county was still soggy from the last storm chain a week ago. Luckily, however, no sign of snow or icy conditions, so our hardy guild members (arriving in raincoats, hats, and boots) were not going to stay home on a Quilters Meeting Day!
I suspect that the gal who put together this year’s calendar uses telepathy to help her schedule things. Yesterday’s schedule had our general meeting, a sewing machine maintenance class, and a Soup Buffet.
Members were instructed to bring in a crock pot of homemade soup to share. By the time our meeting began every electrical outlet in the lunch room had a power strip plugged into it and crockpots of various shapes and sizes were emitting delightful aromas.
Never has there been a day that needed soup more than this one, and here we were, enjoying hot soup while catching up with our friends. Everyone raved about ALL of the soups, but a white bean and ham medley was pronounced the winner.
There was not a competition for “best soup”, so I doubt the chef got a prize. She really didn’t need one. I would bet she is still grinning over all the kudos her soup earned. She no longer has to make the pre-potluck decision “what do I make?” either.
TTFN !
