Bright and colorful quilts, donated to those who need comfort, are just one of the Independence Hall Quilters’ specialties. Our members share in the work – some designing and cutting fabric to make “kits,” others piecing the quilt top, and some layering and quilting the layers together.
We routinely donate comfort quilts to these organizations:
- Child and adult protective services
- Calaveras Sheriff department
- Hospice of the Sierra
- Veterans organizations in Calaveras County and neighboring counties
- Homeless organizations in Calaveras County and neighboring counties
- Individual and/or community crisis situations, such as forest fire victims
- Ukrainian refugees
